I am a qualified tutor in Adult Education and have led courses in watercolour and mixed media for many years. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for experimentation and mark making to help you develop your own visual language.

My aim is to explore spontaneity and immediacy with watercolour using a variety of tools and techniques. The essence of watercolour will be exploited with emphasis on an intuitive approach. You will discover the magical qualities of watercolour and learn to paint in a free and expressive way. Working with mixed media, you will learn techniques to make watercolour an evocative and dynamic medium.

All abilities very welcome. I will provide demonstrations and one-to-one guidance. Information on basic materials required will be given prior to start of course/workshop.

The Flow of Watercolour Workshops

East Cornwall Society of Artists - Saturday 29 March

Drawing on the landscape as a starting point, the aim of this workshop is to create a series of semi- abstract studies focusing on an intuitive response ;  allowing the paint to flow and observing what happens when you let it do it's thing. I will demonstrate how adding other mediums and using new tools can lead to expressive marks and unexpeceted discoveries. Tone, texture, line and composition will be explored.

Through this immersive and unpredictable process, you will discover how to push the boundaries of watercolour, cultivate a playful approach and tune in to your own personal response.
